Ruby Allan resides in Fredericton NB, a province in which she has spent much of her time procuring her love of fine art and finessing her craft.

She was honoured to have been chosen for the Kingsbrae International Residence for the Arts, St. Andrews, NB in 2017. Attending this month residency facilitated her transition from using oil as her preferred medium to working exclusively with coloured pencil. The humble coloured pencil has enabled her to take her portraits to another level.

When Ruby isn’t drawing, you can find her crocheting everything from sweaters, to play food for her three grandchildren. She loves the outdoors, spending time by the water and taking in the serene parts of nature. Ruby loves to travel for art. Viewing some of the most renowned pieces throughout Italy and France have been the biggest highlights.
